Oakville
- The Oakville Choral Society (OCS) is very excited to be
celebrating their 50th Anniversary season. To mark this significant
milestone, OCS is planning some very special events and encourages
everyone to come and hear for themselves just why the group has become
a fixture in Oakville’s cultural life. The Society is under the
direction of Music Director David Bowser and accompanied by Anne Marie
Leonard.
Mr. Bowser remarked "The Oakville Choral Society has served
the community for 50 years and I am thrilled that we can celebrate with
all those who have supported the Society so faithfully over the years,
as well as those who are just discovering the choir for the first
time.”
The OCS is also celebrating the news that it has received a $24,700
grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, which will help with their
50th Anniversary planning. The Foundation, which is an agency of the
Government of Ontario, is a leading grantmaker in Canada, strengthening
the capacity of the voluntary sector through investments in
community-based initiatives.
“I am very pleased to hear that the
Oakville Choral Society has received this Ontario Trillium Foundation
grant that will help with their 50th anniversary celebrations and to
continue to present their excellent performances for the community”,
said Kevin Flynn MPP Oakville.
The Society is excited to present two of their largest events of the
coming year:
